Bodies the Exhibition

Sean and I went to the controversial exhibit of human bodies this evening in downtown Indy. It was fascinating.

There is tons of controversy around the exhibit because the people who put on can't prove where the bodies are from. They have told everyone that families donated the bodies to science but others have suspicions that they are taking the bodies of executed prisoners out of the Chinese prisons. I'm not sure what's true, but I definitely know how things get started and misconstrued.

It was amazing to see all of the displays. In one room it was all about the lungs and they showed a healthy pair of lungs and a smokers lungs. Between the two displays was a box where you could dump your cigarettes. It was completely full. I don't smoke but after seeing actual human lungs of a smoker, I NEVER would.

One of the last rooms you walk through had fetuses. This was a hard one for me, I cried. I know there is a museum in chicago that has a similar display but I was so young when I saw it. They even had a triplet placenta.

Car Shopping....no fun!

I hate car shopping! It's always stressed me out. Its such a big expense you want to make the perfect decision. Sean and I disagree on just about everything when it comes to vehicles, down to the color (he's color blind).

I think it was a little over a year ago I got my 2007 Toyota 4-Runner, I have LOVED this car. I've always wanted one and have now been procrastinating on getting rid of it but the time has finally come.

As I mentioned in a previous post the boys finally graduated out of their snugrides and now have radian80s, we also bought a peg perego triplette. Once I get the boys loaded along with the stroller...there is NO space left. Forget the grocery store (maybe I should keep the 4-runner).

Anyway, today we took a trip to the local Toyota dealership with the boys and looked at SUVs and minivans. They both have their pros and cons. Obviously, the gas mileage is better in the vans but there is more room in the large SUV. The minivan is closer to the ground making it easier to load, but I feel safer in the SUV. I could go on and on.

After much deliberation and loading/unloading car seats and strollers out of both vehicles we have decided on a Toyota Sequoia. I would love to hear feedback as to your thoughts of pros vs cons on large SUVs and minivans.

This is such a big decision!

So much to say and not enough time to say it...

I'm getting a little behind on posting, things have been a bit hectic at the Heffernan House.

The boys are growing like weeds! Cale is crawling like a wild man and he is FAST. He looks like a little spider baby, the way he picks his hands up so high when he crawls. Mr. Colter is crawling as well and when he needs to get somewhere fast he reverts back to the faithful army crawl. Cooper Man is doing much better as well. He is rolling with little effort, starting to move around lots more and evening now sitting on his own. Its hard to remember not to compare the boys because each of them are different in so may ways. He's determined to catch up quickly!

Cale and Colter are both pulling up, Cale's favorite thing to pull up on is Colter's head. I can't count how many times a day Colter gets his head mashed to the floor while Cale is holding firmly onto his ear. Funny thing is he will just let him, they take turns!

Its hard to beleive how much they are interacting. They are actually starting to play together...and fight! I guess that are what brothers are for.

The boys graduated from their snugrides into new radian80s, they love them!! We also bought a new (to us) peg perego. I love the stearing wheel and they love all the space!!

I was feeding the boys this evening when my dear husband decides to bring in a little toad to show the boys. They really had no idea what it was but he was excited! We have a family of toads living outside of our house!

I think Cooper wanted frog legs for dinner...YUM!

Happy 1st Birthday Harden Triplets!

Last weekend I took a trip down to Bloomington to go to the Harden Boy's 1st birthday. My boys were little under the weather and I had a few stops to make so I went solo. It was so nice being able to visit with them

The boys were so patient as they waited for everyone to eat so they could tear into their cake and they didn't hold back, especially Seth! You are such a big boy!

Great job! Can you beleive the first year is already over, it seems like just yesterday you were calling me to tell me your were pregnant with the little guys!

NICU Reunion

Today was our NICU reunion. The hospital where I delivered the boys is fairly new so this was their first reunion, ever. I don't think they were quite ready for such a turn out. One of my nurses said they thought that 200 or so would come, they had 500 RSVP and more than that show up! It was SO crowded. It was nice to see all the nurses and doctors that took such good care of the boys. I think Sean was most excited to make his own trail mix!

While I was up there I visited a friend who is also pregnant with triplet boys! She will be 35 weeks on Tuesday, whooo hooo! GO DENNISE!! She looks great! Her C-section is schedule for Tuesday.

We also met Maggie (hardentriplets) and her family there then went out to PF Changs for a late lunch, we were definitely the talk of the resturant! It was great to see them! Its crazy to think we have been such great friends for 10+ years and we both have triplet boys!

Wow, they grow SO fast!

Over the last couple of days I have been watching how the boys interact. Its so much fun watching them grow and learn new things with each other. They are at the point that if you only put one toy in front of them there is an all out war! They ALL want it. I can't wait for Christmas this year! I think I might wrap a bunch of card board boxes, that seems to be the hit right now. :)
